Pro-Tech Heating & Cooling has been around for nearly two decades. They love giving back to the community and are focused on company culture and employee retention, but the most important thing to Pro-Tech is providing the best possible customer experience.
Pro-Tech has always offered 24-hour service, seven days a week. They recently made the decision to eliminate answering services and now, if you call after hours, you will speak to the same fabulous office staff you speak with during the day. This gives them the ability to ensure they are maintaining the excellent customer service experience they strive to provide.
While the primary focus at Pro-Tech is the customer experience, they also pride themselves on their company culture and their employees. As Lisa Purvins, co-owner of Pro-Tech says, “When we hire new employees, we hope it will be the last job they’ll ever have. We cultivate that with great benefits, competitive wages, and a positive and fun work environment that includes lots of company outings, cook outs, and company breakfasts.” Pro-Tech is always looking to add new members to their work family.
During the last two decades of service, Pro-Tech has extended their hearts and services throughout their community. They continuously work with local nonprofit organizations to provide low-income families with furnaces and water heaters. They are also active in community events, sponsoring different programs, and supporting various local schools and churches. During the pandemic they matched gift cards in support of local restaurants and hair salons and took part in MLive’s Feeding the Frontlines initiative that thanked educators by giving them meals.
“We feel very fortunate that we were an ‘essential’ business through COVID, and we didn’t have to shut down completely,” Purvins said. “We have really felt for businesses and people in our community that have been affected adversely through the pandemic. Our new summer giveaway is our way of bringing joy and excitement to our community.”
The ultimate summer giveaway is right in line with both the fun culture of Pro-Tech and the company’s ongoing commitment to community involvement. The weekly giveaways began on June 11 and will continue all summer long!
Like many, we were wondering why a local HVAC company was doing something so unique, the reason behind it is: “We just moved to our new building, and we were going to have a big grand opening but with COVID, we couldn’t do that, so instead we put our heads together to come up with something fun to celebrate this milestone at Pro-Tech and that’s where the ultimate summer giveaway comes in,” said Neva Dreyer, who works in customer service and dispatch at Pro-Tech.
Prizes through June and July are focused on outdoor activities. Come August, Pro-Tech will start giving away back-to-school supplies such as loaded backpacks, laptops and more! What a fun way to enjoy those summer months, just ask Kim VanDam, the winner of a grill, Pro-Tech’s second giveaway.
As avid campers, Kim VanDam and her family like to cook out. When they take their camper around the state for their daughter’s softball games, they bring a portable grill with them. When they’re home, they use their larger gas grill – or they did, until that old grill fell apart three years ago.
Getting a new grill for their Grand Rapids-area home was on their wish list, but “it wasn’t an expense that we were looking to hurry into,” VanDam said. Instead, they began shopping for a new furnace and air conditioner this summer when VanDam came across a Facebook drawing for a new grill. That sounded like a dream come true, so she liked the post from Pro-Tech Heating & Cooling and shared it with friends and family. A couple of days later, as VanDam was getting ready to go away for a weekend softball tournament, she got a notification on her phone.
“I was kind of like, ‘Ugh, another notification.’ And then I pulled it up and I was like, ‘Hey! We won a grill!’” VanDam said. “I was pretty excited to find out it’s a really nice grill, too!”
VanDam went to Pro-Tech’s office at 4073 Remembrance Rd. in Walker to pick up her prize, a Broil King Baron 420 Freestanding Grill from Nawara Brothers. The company was thrilled to meet one of their winners!
“I told them we were pretty excited because we hadn’t had a grill and they even threw in a propane tank, too,” VanDam said. “It’s nice that we have a grill now and we didn’t have to purchase it, so that money can go towards camping or fixing up our house.”
The grill is one of several prizes Pro-Tech is giving away as part of their ultimate summer giveaway. Other prizes have included a fully loaded Yeti cooler, a golf bag package, Tommy Bahama beach gear set, kayaks, all-inclusive passes to Michigan’s Adventure, two Schwinn GTX3 Hybrid bikes and more! The giveaway will continue all summer and the winners are drawn every Friday!
You can enter each week’s drawing the way VanDam did, by liking Pro-Tech’s Facebook page and sharing the contest post and tagging friends. Or you can stop by the Pro-Tech office in person to fill out a form. Or do it both ways to increase your odds! Each person is allowed to enter one time, each way, each week and there is no purchase necessary.
As an added bonus, if you enter in person, you can also win Pro-Tech swag by playing the Pro-Tech Plinko game!
“We have people that are regulars now that are stopping by to play Plinko and get their name in the drawing each week,” Purvins said.’
